MAIN STAGE
Taking the 2022 stage as a starting point, the 2023 project was configured as an aesthetic development based on some of the same precepts. The union between technology and nature remained central, but this time reducing the presence of plants (ferns in general) and adding scenographic rocks as new connecting elements, present in the front, wings and back of the stage. The aim was to move beyond the tropical aesthetic of ferns and include stones as a dialogue between the natural world and the urban concrete where the festival is located.
A large LED panel in the shape of a rising sun was included at the back of the stage, on which the different visual contents of each artist could be projected, transforming the stage from show to show. The festival logo, which used to be present in the center of the stage, was reduced and moved to one side, so as not to dominate the stage's appearance at all times.
The two wings were designed as large LED towers, using infinite corner plates to create the illusion of perfect volume, generating three-dimensionality and weight for these elements that had both functional (transmission of shows and sponsor content) and aesthetic purposes.
Two LED tube 'paths' were positioned suspended across the stage from the front to the back, providing visual unity between both parts and reinforcing the general volume of the stage. Since these LED tubes are fully programmable and RGB, they could be configured in sync with the lighting in order to create a dialogue between the two fronts and create special scenes for each show.
DJ STAGE (CLUB COALA)
The stage structure for DJs was designed not only as a booth itself but as a small dance floor, bringing the DJ close to the audience and visually delimiting an area to encourage the concentration of people in that space. Located in the middle of the coconut grove at the Memorial and next to the festival's food court, it was important to create an aesthetic unity that explained the particularity of that stage and separated it in some way from the surrounding area.
