GIGANTES FEST 2025

The stage of GIGANTES FEST, a new rap festival in Rio de Janeiro, sought to materialize the festival's graphic identity - marked by bold typography, direct language and the striking presence of red - in a scenographic structure that combined industrial rawness with visual power.

The proposal was to maintain the exposed metal structure, where all the iron elements would be exposed to interact with the lighting, creating a raw aspect in dialogue with the festival's communication. At the top of the stage, the large-scale sign stood out on a gridded metal plate, a solution that maintained structural transparency while adding texture and new layers of light interaction. The lighting, restricted to the colors red and white, reinforced the event's visual identity in a coherent and striking way.

The main scenographic elements were the two monumental sculptures of hands that emerged from the stage as if supporting the LED screens. Produced by artists specializing in Rio Carnival floats - some of the same artists who work on the parades at Marquês de Sapucaí, where the festival was held - these sculptures visually translated the name "Gigantes" while connecting rap culture and new technologies to the local artistic tradition.

The stage was also designed to establish a visual dialogue with the monumental arch of Praça da Apoteose, creating an impressive composition both for the audience watching from a distance and for aerial images. Centered under the arch, the set balanced the scale of the event with the iconic architecture of the space, reinforcing the physical presence of the festival in the city. The exposed metal structure, the sculptural hands and the restricted lighting palette composed a cohesive visual narrative, where each element contributed to an immersive and distinctive experience.
